We are looking to recruit the best possible candidates to join our team of seasonal staff for our exciting new season – 1st April to 24th September 2017.
House Guides work an average of two (4-5 hour) days per week and must be available for some weekend work. An interest in history, art or architecture is an advantage, but the ability to communicate with our wide range of visitors is essential. Discretion, teamwork, flexibility and enthusiasm are also key requirements for this enjoyable but demanding role.
House Volunteers work at least one day a week (unpaid) preparing the house for tours, welcoming our visitors and assisting the Guides throughout the day. Those with special areas of interest (eg research, restoration) may be able to develop the role further with the Curator.
Adventure Gardens Assistants perform a wide variety of tasks, including keeping the park tidy, setting up for events, supervising pedalo rides, selling ice cream from the kiosk or van and serving in the Railway Shop. They need to be polite, confident, cheerful, adaptable and hardworking. Most work around two or three (7 hour) shifts per week, but often more during peak times. We will not accept applications from anyone under 16 years of age.
A Relief Cleaner is vital to our visitors’ enjoyment of Newby Hall and Gardens in a clean, safe and pleasant environment. Hours are negotiable, but some Saturdays and 2 weeks holiday cover are essential. Duties include cleaning all the visitor facilities withing the gardens, but not the house.
Please apply, attaching a CV and full contact details to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday 13th February.
We are happy to consider applications from Volunteers at any time.
