Renata Barcelos

Renata Tagliari Barcelos was born in São Paulo on the 24th of October 1969. She is self-taught and started practicing at the workshop of a renowned Paulista sculptor Pedro Pinkalsky with soap stones in August 1993. In July 1995, she had her first contact with marbles at Renato Brunello´s workshop. In the same year, she took part in the first salon of arts organized by the journal of arts of the Mokiti Okada´s foundation, and was second. She went to Pietrasanta in Italy in December 1995, and worked for six months only with hard stones ( marbles and onyx ) in various workshops; like Laboratório Palla, Laboratório Silverio Paolli, and also in the workshop of Belgian sculptor, Kobe Saelens.
