Two Circles III
Slate, steel frame £4,500

Tom was born into a 4th generation of greengrocers in Dury Lane, Covent Garden. His first ventures into sculpture were making lifesize people from fruit and vegetables.
He works from a leaky studio in Vauxhall in London where he has been based for the several years. Tom has never formally trained in sculpture, but he studied stone carving and letter cutting in the evenings at the City & Guilds London School of Art. His experiments with stone and the wearing influence of water have very much dictated the direction of his work in the last few years. Repetition and movement are recurring themes but always with a strong sense of calm.
Tom's work ranges from the small to the monumental. He works to commission and is represented by The Crane Kalman Gallery, London.
