Information for Disabled Visitors
Access - There are allocated spaces in the car park for disabled visitors, adjacent
to entrance pavilion on a natural hard-core surface. Pathways are pea-shingle
gravel throughout the gardens. There is one shallow step to the house and a shallow
ramped exit from the house. All ground floor rooms are accessible in wheelchairs
and the ground floor contains the main rooms, e.g. entrance hall, library, tapestry
room and statue gallery.
3 motorised scooters and three manual wheelchairs are available for loan if required
(it is best to reserve them in advance), particularly for the gardens. To reserve

Other facilities include the children's adventure garden which comprises many
slides, climbing frames, swings, and sandpits, some of which are suitable for
disabled visitors. Likewise the miniature railway has sit-in carriages and offers
a 15-minute riverside trip through parts of the formal gardens. There is a ramp
access to the self-service licensed garden restaurant and also to adjacent to
the Grantham Room for pre-booked parties with waitress service. There is a Disabled
lavatory adjacent to restaurant.
