Autumn Harrogate Flower Show moves to Newby for 2020

Autumn Harrogate Flower Show moves to Newby for 2020

We are pleased to confirm the announcement that Harrogate Flower Shows are bringing their world-famous autumn event to Newby Hall Gardens next year.

The UK’s premier autumn gardening show will take place on the 18-20th September 2020.

Harrogate Flower Show Director, Nick Smith said:

“Any good attraction or event should regularly review what is available to offer and ensure that it stays both relevant and vibrant for its visitors.’

We have carried out that process over the last year and, working with our partners at Newby, we are thrilled to become the first national gardening event to offer future visitors all of their favourite show features, plus access to a fabulous stately home and gardens.”

Newby Hall is only a few miles away, with access just off the A1M, and offers 25 acres of incredible gardens, as well as a children’s adventure garden. The move has really given us an opportunity to reimagine what our show could look like and we hope that our visitors will be as excited as we are about the future!”

Richard Compton, owner of Newby Hall and Gardens added:

We are delighted to be hosting the UK’s premier autumn gardening event and can promise a warm Newby welcome to Harrogate Autumn Flower Show visitors and exhibitors for 18-20 September 2020.

Our award winning gardens offer 15 different garden ‘rooms’ to explore, in addition to our iconic double herbaceous borders. The combination of the flower show, the gardens and the hall will create an incredible experience. We are proud and excited.

Will the new show have all of my favourite features?

Yes, we plan to offer all the favourite attractions – giant veg, leading UK plant nurseries, fruit and veg shows, fantastic autumn blooms, talks and demonstrations, crafts, gifts, food etc. But, importantly, we will also be offering the fantastic Newby Hall gardens too!

What is the date of the new show?

The Harrogate Autumn Flower Show will be at Newby on 18-20th September 2020.

How will I get to the show? Can I get there by public transport?

Much the same as with current shows, we plan to run regular shuttle buses from Harrogate town centre to Newby Hall, so you can get the train or bus to Harrogate and the shuttle bus to the show.

How much will show tickets be?

Advance specific day tickets will be available at £19.50 from 1st March 2020. Special any day tickets are available at this year’s show for £22. Children under 16 are free accompanied by an adult with a full price ticket.

Is access to Newby’s gardens included in the price of my ticket?

Is access to the house included with the ticket?

Part of the house is included with displays for the show, but normal house tours will not be available during the flower show.

Can I use my Newby Season Ticket to get into the show?

A Newby season ticket will not give free access to the flower show. We are currently working on a discount price for our season ticket holders which will be available shortly.

Is parking available and will it still be free?

Yes, there is plenty of free parking for both cars and coaches. We have also allocated Blue Badge parking.

Is there anything for children to do?

Yes, we have a fantastic adventure playground, along with a miniature train, water play and pedalo boats. There will also be a whole new range of fun family activities. Children under 16 are free with an accompanied adult with a full price ticket.
