DESCRIPTION:Apple Day – The Apple Throwing Championships & The World Jam Festival!\n  \n \n2025s Winner Lucas Robinson collecting his trophy.  \n  \nSunday 27th September 2026 is Apple Day at Newby Hall \nCentral to Apple Day is the hotly contested Apple Throwing Championships where whoever throws an Apple the furthest over the River Ure wins the prestigious title and trophy!!! \nThere will also be apple pressing demonstrations\, Cider tasting\, a display of the many apple varieties grown in our orchards and advice on all things fruity from our expert friends at the Northern Fruit Group. \nWe will have performances from Harrogate Spa Uke’s from 1.30pm on the Restaurant lawn. \nBuilding on last years success NEWBY HALL WILL AGAIN BE HOSTING THE WORLD JAM FESTIVAL \nDo your jams\, marmalades or chutneys deserve a world stage? then it is time to shine at the World Jam Festival. \nEntries close 7th September 2026 – Awards day 27th September 2026 in Newby Hall Gardens. \nThe winner gets to sell their jam in the Newby Hall Shop for 1 year. \nFor more information visit https://worldjamfestival.com/ \nBUY A GARDENS ADMISSION TICKET AND JOIN US FOR FUN FILLED DAY. \nApple Throwing Championships 1pm-3pm.  Anyone who gets their 3 apples to the other side of the River Ure will be invited back for the Grand Final! \nGrand Final 3:30pm. \nLAST CHANCE TO USE YOUR NEWBY HALL 2026 RADIO VOUCHER AT THIS EVENT \n \n
