A Newby First!
Last Sunday saw a visit by miniature train enthusiasts, the Heywood Society to the 10¼ gauge railway at Newby Hall. Accompanying them on their visit were steam loco, Number 505 “Ypres” which along with a guest loco LNER 4433 from Steam Workshop in Heckmondwike and Newby’s own Royal Scot saw 3 steam locos running – a first for Newby Hall!
The miniature railway, which had been hugely popular with Newby’s visitors has also had a completely new track laid over the close Winter season. The track was laid by Cromar White, the same company that laid the first track almost 50 years ago.
