Welcome to 2017!

Welcome to 2017!

Newby Hall reopens its doors on Saturday 1st April and there certainly is a lot to pack in the 2017 Season. As well as familiar favourites, there are lots of new events to enjoy including a Family Street Food Festival featuring the best Street food on offer, all followed by big name DJs on the night! The Festival is due to run from 22-24th September. The Aldborough & Boroughbridge Show is also moving to Newby Hall for the first time in its 104 year history on the 23rd July. Visitors can enter into the swing of things with this fantastic country show and show their skills at baking, arts & crafts, horse riding, tug of war and many, many more!

The Garden Pavilions at the bottom of Newby’s famous herbaceous borders are undergoing a radical transformation in the form of stunning shell panels created by York based artist Linda Fenwick. The panels have been created in an Adam style design by Newby Hall’s owner, Lucinda Compton. There is a little more work to be done, but please take the time to have a look as they are truly beautiful!

The first event at Newby will be the Easter Family Fun Days with a whole host of characters from Make a Wish Events. It’s a wonderful day out for the hole family, and the children (and adults!!) can take part in the magical Woodland Trail…there may even be the promise of chocolate if all the clues to the trail are solved!

The Bear House and the Dollshouse museum have all had a spring clean, ready for our 2017 visitors…there may also be a few new (bear) faces to see down there!

There’s lots more on at Newby, so please keep checking back here and we’ll keep you updated with everything that’s going on!
