Generation Groove is a community band based in Haxby, North Yorkshire. Within the Generation Groove family they have three bands so they can offer a fun and friendly playing experience for every level. Their main band Generation Groove will be celebrating its 18th birthday this year and has come a long way from its very first meeting on the 1st August 2002. They began with just six members and rapidly grew over the next few weeks to over 21 players. In just four months they had grown to over forty members in the band many of whom had never played in a band before. They rely totally on subscriptions and donations and are a non profit making organisation. All proceeds from their concerts are reinvested back into the band providing items such as music, music stands and other related equipment the band will need in order to continue these concerts.
