Volunteer opportunities available within the Garden Team

If you have a passion for plants, love gardening and would enjoy working with a professional team of like-minded people, then why not join our team of Garden Volunteers?

Our Garden Team are involved in a number of significant projects to improve and maintain the gardens at Newby Hall, and we would welcome new volunteers who want to help us to achieve our aims.

Tasks will involve a wide variety of general gardening activities. Our volunteers usually work as a group under the supervision of a member of the Garden Team.

An enthusiasm for gardening is all that is required. You don’t need to be an expert as we will show you what is required and how we approach each task, to ensure that you are confident in your work.

Our volunteers work in a wide variety of settings and with a wide variety of plants so you will get an all-year-round experience of what to do and when to do it in one of the top ornamental gardens visited by tens of thousands of people every year.
