Newby Hall and RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Newby Hall were delighted to have been involved with Welcome to Yorkshire’s award winning show garden, ‘God’s Own County’ designed by Matthew Wilson at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The Garden won a Silver Medal and it also won the BBC People’s Choice Award, which was voted for by the public. As well as providing some plants from the gardens at Newby, we also loaned some medieval stone pinnacles which had fallen off the Minster many years ago and had been donated to Newby Hall, where they now reside in the historic Rock Garden. The pinnacles were an integral part of the design, and drew lots of attention form the thousands who visited the prestigious show. The pinnacles will return to Newby Hall and the Rock Garden next week, but you can see them at Chelsea in the pictures above
